Krename is a program for mass renaming of files and directories. A free and open source program

Renaming options:

• Renaming files and directories;
• It is possible to work with templates;
• Case change: Converting file names to upper/lower case;
• Adding prefixes and suffixes to file names: You can select a date or number to add each of them to the beginning or end of the file name;
• Search and replace parts of file names using regular expressions;
• You can select the filename or extension option. Using a custom field allows you to use tags provided by plugins. If you use numbers, select the start and end range;
• There is a preview of renaming files;
• Support for changing file extensions;

Possible actions on files:

• Rename the source files;
• Copy files to another folder (select destination): the source files remain intact;
• Move files to another folder after renaming;
• Create symbolic links in another folder: the links use the requested naming method, the source files are not touched.
