μPad – is a free and open source cross-platform software for creating and organizing notes

Review

  • µpad (MicroPad) allows you to use an infinite canvas to create notes, i.e. it doesn’t restrict you to a vertical area. Developers believe that taking notes is better on a whiteboard than on a lined sheet of paper, thus µpad (MicroPad) provides an infinite canvas for your ideas, allowing you to structure your thoughts as you please;
  • Each note can contain an unlimited number of sections, subsections, and notes.

It is possible to create notes:

  • text;
  • with Markdown formatting;
  • with images;
  • with a drawing, sketch;
  • PDF document;
  • any file;
  • audio/voice recording;
  • Jupyter Notebook (*.ipynb).

  • You can sync notes on all your devices using µSync with server-side and client-side encryption (AES-256);
  • You can use the µSync function to share your notebooks with other people;
  • Import from Evernote, files with Markdown and npx/zip/enex formatting, and export to enex and Markdown format;
  • Support for hashtags. If you add a simple ” #todo “to a note, MicroPad will automatically link it to all other notes that also have” #todo ” in all your notebooks. This makes finding and tagging notes very easy;
  • You can set a due date for each item in a note. The quick overview panel will display a timely notification that the deadline is approaching;
  • There is a search;
  • Support for design themes;
  • Support for keyboard shortcuts.
