  • Add files to selected book records: allows you to add or update the files associated with an existing book in your library;
  • Add an empty file to selected book records: allows you to add an empty file of the specified format to the selected book records.

Organization of the library book:

  • Sorting books by: author, language, series, format, publisher, rating, tag, and indexer.

E-book viewer:

  • There is a book search;
  • You can display the table of contents (the sidebar to the left);
  • You can create bookmarks and click on them;
  • You can change the font size;
  • It is possible to change/create a color scheme: the color of the page and text;

E-book conversion:

Calibre supports conversion between certain e book formats:

  • Input format: CBZ, CBR, CBC, EPUB, FB2, HTML, LIT, LRF, MOBI, ODT, PDF, PRC, PDB, PML, RB, RTF, TCR, TXT;
  • Output format: EPUB, FB2, OEB, LIT, LRF, MOBI, PDB, PML, RB, PDF, TCR, TXT;
  • Conversion has many options: changing metadata, appearance, and function (changing: font (main and buttons), line size and indentation), heuristic processing, changing the table of contents, and so on.;

Editing e-books:

  • Calibre has an integrated e-book editor that can be used to edit books in the EPUB and AZW3 (Kindle) formats. The editor shows you the HTML and CSS that is used internally inside the book files, with a live preview that updates as you make changes. It also contains various automated tools to perform common cleanup and fixing tasks.

The Calibre Content server:

  • The Calibre Content server allows you to access your Calibre libraries and read books directly in a browser on your favorite mobile phone or tablet device. As a result, you do not need to install any dedicated book reading/management apps on your phone. Just use the browser. The server downloads and stores the book you are reading in an off-line cache so that you can read it even when there is no internet connection;
  • Each book has a permanent address and description based on metadata. The user can navigate through content: virtual libraries, tags, publishers, and other attributes, and track new items. Search is supported — in early versions there were problems with Russian-language names, but now there are none. Various display modes are provided, including for mobile devices.

Editing e-book metadata:

  • Downloading metadata. Automatically populate multiple metadata fields by retrieving metadata from various websites. Currently, Calibre uses isbndb.com, Google Books, Amazon and Library Thing. The metadata download can fill in Title, author, series, tags, rating, description and ISBN for you;
  • You can ask Calibre to download book covers for you, provided the book has a known ISBN.

Comparing e-books:

  • Calibre includes an integrated e-book comparison tool that can be used to see what has changed inside an e-book after editing or converting it. It can compare books in the EPUB and AZW3 formats.

Search:

  • Advanced search: by keywords, exact phrases, one or more of these words;
  • Search by: title, author, series, tag, and other data;
  • Search by date;
  • You can save search results for quick access.

  • Automatically receiving news from some sites and converting it into a book;
  • Plugin support.
