Simple graphical interface (the design follows the recommendations of the GNOME Human Interface). It aims to be easy to use while maintaining high level of configurability;
It can play almost all video and audio formats;
Celluloid plays both local audio or video files, as well as streaming (YouTube, Vimeo, and others);
Support for drag and drop playlists;
It is possible to use MPV configuration files;
Support for MPRIS2 and multimedia keys;
There are two themes: dark and light;
Subtitle support;
There is a repeat mode and volume control;
It is possible to show the playlist in the sidebar on the right;
It is possible to show/hide controls;
Full-screen mode support;
Support for keyboard shortcuts.

The software Celluloid is available for installation on Linux.
