Kup Backup – free and open source tool with automated versioned and synchronized backup type for the Plasma desktop, GUI software bup

Review

  • Available backup types: versioned (incremental) via bup, synchronized via rsync;
  • Have the ability to select sources (folders) to backup;
  • You can choose a storage location: local hard disk or external storage (external hard disk via USB);
  • It is possible to configure the schedule: start manually, after a time interval (minutes, hours, days, weeks), duration (a certain number of hours);
  • When you select a versioned backup, you can check the backup and generate recovery information;
  • Needed backup programs. To actually create backups of your data you will need either “bup” or “rsync” installed. They provide the implementations for the two different types of backups that Kup supports.
