Software Password Safe saves the password database in the format .psafe3 (Password Safe v3);
It is possible to export to formats: .psafe1, .psafe2, .psafe4 (experimental), Plain Text, XML;

Password Safe uses Twofish-256 to secure the data itself. Keys are derived using an equivalent of PBKDF2 with SHA-256 authentication and 2048 iterations.
