Clapper is a free and open source, simple and modern media player for Linux GNOME

Review

  • The Clapper media player runs on GStreamer (it can play almost all video and audio formats) with OpenGL rendering;
  • Clapper plays both local audio or video files, and streaming (YouTube, Vimeo, and others);
  • There are three modes: windowed-displays the controls, floating-displays the video on top of all other windows, hides the controls and full-screen;
  • Hardware acceleration support;
  • Playback functions: play/pause, rewind, volume control, video/audio track selection, playback speed selection;
  • MPRIS support;
  • Subtitle support;
  • It is possible to configure the repeat parameters: do nothing, stop at the last frame, close the application;
  • It is possible to set a custom playback volume level;
  • Support for two themes: light and dark;
