Interface

Geary has a three-panel interface by default:

  • the panel on the left contains mailboxes,
  • the message headers are located in the middle of the panel,
  • in the panel on the right, the message body;
  • It is possible to use a two-panel interface, so the message headers will be located to the left, below the mailbox;
  • Controls are located in the upper part of the program.

  • Viewing, creating, sending, and receiving email messages;
  • WYSIWYG editor for creating messages using HTML markup with support for spell checking, font selection, highlighting, inserting links, adding margins, etc.;
  • Function for grouping messages by discussion. Multiple modes for displaying messages in discussions;

You can mark individual messages:

  • add/remove to / from favorites (go),
  • as read,
  • as unread,
  • as spam;

  • Quick search in the message database;
  • Support for working with multiple email accounts simultaneously;
  • Support for integration with web mail services: Gmail, Outlook.com and Yahoo Mail and others;
  • Full support for IMAP and message synchronization tools. Fully compatible with popular IMAP servers, including Dovecot;
  • Mail archiving support;
  • Support for integration with the desktop environment for displaying notifications when new mail is received;
  • Support for working in offline mode;
  • Sending a response to all respondents and redirecting the message;
  • Spell check;
  • SSL and STARTTLS support;
  • There is a possibility to send and receive attachments;
  • There is auto-completion of the entered email addresses in the process of writing a message;
  • You can enable the function to continue working after closing all Windows of the program;
  • Support for working with hot keys.
