KGeoTag is a photo geotagging program. Free and open source

Supported image formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, OpenRaster and Krita Document. Geodata can be downloaded from (uncompressed) GPX files;
Automatic tagging support: Automatic mapping using geodata provided by GPX files;
Drag and drop interface: tagging images using drag and drop. You can select one or more images and place them on the map at the appropriate location (possibly also using some GPX track);
Assigning images to bookmarks: For places that are often assigned to images (for example, at home, where you do not have a GPS recorder), you can define bookmarks. Then the images can be easily assigned the appropriate coordinates;
Manual assignment: You can also enter coordinates for one or more images manually. Heights can either be searched automatically using opentopodata.org , or also entered manually;
It is possible to save coordinates: KGeoTag can either write them to the Exif header of images (which will obviously change the corresponding files), to XMP sidecar files (leaving the source files intact), or both.

The software KGeoTag is available for installation on Linux.
