Krop – free and open source simple graphical tool to crop the pages of PDF files for Linux



Review

  • Krop is a simple graphical tool for cropping PDF pages that can automatically split pages to fit the screen size of Ebooks;
  • To crop the pages of a PDF file, first select the file: click the “Open” button, then click the “Trim Margins” button, the fields for cropping will be automatically set, if you want to change the cropping fields, use the mouse;
  • You are able to choose which pages to apply the crop: all pages, odd/even, individual pages (list pages which require individual selections);
  • You can choose which pages to exclude from cropping (for example, 1-5 for the first 5 pages, 2- for all but the first page, 1, 4-5, 7- to omit pages 2, 3, 6);
  • Extra operations on the final PDF: don’t rotate, rotate left/richt (90 degrees), upside down;
  • Fit screen of device: no fitting, 4:3 eReader, 4:3 eReader (widescreen), Nook 1st Edition, Nook 1st Edition (widescreen), custom;
  • Use Ghostscript to optionally optimize the final PDF;
  • Command line support;
  • When you are done setting up, click the “Krop!” button.
