Password for GNOME is a free and open source calculator and random password generator for GNOME

Review

  • Profile support (each profile has its own settings, you can delete a profile);
  • It is possible to protect the profile with a password;
  • The calculator can use MD5, SHA1, SHA256 and SHA512 hashing algorithms in combination with HMAC;
  • Calculator settings: you can choose a hashing algorithm, you can add a secret word to be added to the calculation, add an alias (so that you do not enter it every time);
  • Basic settings: choose the password length, remove lowercase alphabetic characters (letters), remove alphabetic characters in uppercase, remove numeric characters, only PIN code: replace all characters with numbers, remove special characters;
  • Settings for working with the system: on/off automatic closing (closing the application after checking the secrecy), on/off clear the clipboard (delete the password copied to the clipboard), choose how much to display/keep the password in the clipboard in seconds, send or not notifications about copying or deleting the password;
  • Passwords are saved together with an alias: you need to enter an alias and a password will appear;
  • Support for two themes: light and dark;
  • The Password for GNOME program is compatible with Linux phones using Phosh (PinePhone, Librem 5).
