qutebrowser is a free and open source, multiplatform browser focused on keyboard usage, with a minimal graphical interface

Review

  • qutebrowser was inspired by other browsers/add-ons such as dwb and Vimperator/Pentadactyl, and is based on Python and PyQt5;
  • qutebrowser provides a minimalistic graphical interface that does not distract from viewing content, and a Vim text editor-style navigation system based on keyboard shortcuts;
  • Tab support (keyboard shortcut to open a new tab: CTRL+T);
  • There is a download manager;
  • There is a private viewing mode;
  • There is a built-in PDF viewer;
  • Ad blocking system support;
  • It is possible to open the history of visits (keyboard shortcut to open a new history of visits: O). It is possible to search through the history of the visit;
  • To watch videos and listen to audio, you can set up an external media player call.
